How to Get the Most From Jordy
Jordy users often ask us if there is an optimal number of times to post on social media. There is no right answer to that question, but usually more is better. We encourage starting with at least one post per day on each of your social feeds.
If you post more than once an hour, you saturate most social platforms. Their algorithms notice excessive posting and reduce your reach. Most Jordy users aren’t near that level of posting, though, so that’s why we advise that usually posting more is better.
Best practice for posting is different from platform to platform, of course. On Twitter, for instance, the lifespan of a tweet is measured in minutes and hours. Twitter doesn’t appear to penalize the repeat of a popular tweet within a few hours, probably because the original tweet is long gone.
On Facebook the lifespan of a post is longer, usually hours and sometimes days. Re-posting doesn’t work well on Facebook.
The general posting rule of thumb is: the more you can post stories that engage your audience, the better.
Jordy helps you do just that. It saves you time curating relevant content right away. You can tell Jordy the topics you want to post about. You also can use Jordy’s search function to find specific articles or explore offbeat and trending stories. Our goal is to make it quick and easy to post at least once a day.
More importantly, as your posting cadence increases, Jordy learns more about what your audience responds to. That, in turn, improves the quality of Jordy’s recommendations.
It’s a virtuous circle. The more you post from Jordy, the more Jordy improves your social media posts. If you post less than once a day, you’ll still benefit from Jordy’s topic and search curation. If you promise to post at least once a day, though, we promise to give you better and better content recommendations.
Bottom line: our advice is to start with at least one post per day on each social media feed. Jordy will help you meet and beat that goal!
