Why America Can’t Be The World Police (Stop Pedestalizing The West) [Part 1]
Introduction
Greetings,
Welcome, I divided this article into 7 parts. And each part is being released in the following days. What I wrote in my intro is a warning for you before you read this article. Enjoy.
Also remember that text in square parenthesis, [like this]. Are just my thoughts on a particular situation. You can skip them if you want. They aren’t necessary to read. They are meant to assist you in better understand a particular situation.
WARNING
This is the part of the article that will make you click away and watch something else. Or will make you write hateful comments in my comment section.
You will most likely share it with all your hater friends and write why I’m so wrong. And why you must cancel me for being a Russian propagandist? Here’s some background. My name is Jorge and I am a student in Portugal.
And if you believe I am a Russian Propagandist. I’m not going to argue with you. If you live in an EU country you’ll know that is impossible.
The EU has blocked all Russian TV propaganda channels.
And I am not going to go the extra mile to watch RT on pirate websites. Risking my Mac catching some virus. Or becoming traumatized by watching porn to consume Russian talk points.
If you believe the Kremlin has brainwashed me you are a moron. And I don’t know how many mental gymnastics you need to do to get to this conclusion.
At this point, the only thing I can watch from Eastern Europe is Ukrainian Spongebob.
Anyways. If you want to know where I get my ideas. I get my information from YouTube channels such as Think School, TLDR EU, Jake Tran, and Caspian Report. None of them are Russian. Think School is Indian. TLDR EU is British. Jake Tran is Vietnamese American. And Caspian Report is Azeri. Take your own conclusions from here.
I am writing because I love to share my ideas through writing. And I know I may have been somewhat sympathetic towards Russia in my articles. I don’t do it for the Tsar or for Gazprom money. I don’t do it because I love Vladimir Putin.
I don’t do it because I have a sexy Russian girlfriend sucking my nuts dry on an hourly basis.
(Well at least, at the time of this writing that isn’t the case. [11/18/2022 Life threw me a curveball and a few days after I wrote this sentence I started dating a Ukrainian. How ironic, lol])
And no, I don’t believe Russia is the pinnacle of free speech. Especially for adopting similar conservative family values as mine.
And I, above all don’t do it because I support Russian imperialism. Or the oppression of ethnic minorities within or outside Russia.
Ranging from Holodomor and awful soviet nuclear tests in Kazakhstan and the Urals. Those aren’t my reasons. I have a sympathetic view of Russia because I admire Russia.
I admire the Russian Revolution. The fact that they have the largest landmass on planet Earth. The fact that as much as Russia and Russians try to free themselves they always end up where they started. To Authoritarianism.
Russia is a work in progress and Russians have a lot on their plate.
I also like Russia because of its support in the cold war for independence movements in Africa. Those are some of my motivations.
But the main reason I do it is because the world order is unbalanced.
Prologue
The USSR and the bipolar world are very missed. People who love fairness in the world miss it. With the collapse of the Soviet Union, we entered a new and unprecedented chapter in history.
In this chapter, we have a United States that sees itself entitled to do whatever it wants. It never faces repercussions for its actions on the world stage. When the US commits atrocities. Loses a war, or violates international law (Invasion Of Iraq and Afghanistan).
The international community doesn’t sanction it or punish America.
If the US can sanction anybody, who will sanction and punish them? Who will cut them off SWIFT? Who will embargo them? Who?
It weaponizes its economic might to punish those who don’t serve it’s interests. Lots of times for no valid reason. The international community doesn’t condemn this behavior, but it should.
The international community appealed many times for the lifting of sanctions on Cuba. The US ignored it and did some small lifts.
If Russia and other countries suffer sanctions for not acting under international law. Who is going to sanction the US if does the same thing to other countries? Who will sanction the US if tomorrow it invades another sovereign nation?
This is a valid concern because it has already happened. Forgot about Iraq and Afghanistan? Worst of all, these are countries that it doesn’t share borders with. Who stood up and will stand up against these unfair actions?
While you were busy posting #supportukraine. Julian Assange is under arrest in America. For crimes, he didn’t commit in America. Most of you don’t support this behavior and I ask you this. Who will stand up against the USA for that?
I wish to see a world where there are other players. Where the EU, China, and Russia would stand up and sanction the US for stepping out of line. A world order in which there’s mutual accountability for superpowers.
But I am also not a fool in trying to perceive the world in a way that is in line with my ideals of fairness. And I understand that Santa won’t come out of the chimney and give me the Soviet Union as a Christmas Gift.
Note that, what I am writing in this article is what I believe in. This is my opinion.
This is why I hate the foreign policy conducted by the United States Of America.
If you don’t have an open mind and are not interested in listening to my opinion. Please don’t waste your time, go away and go to Zaporizhia and help Ukraine fight the war. Don’t post on social media saying you have solidarity to the Ukrainian people.
If you care about them, don’t speak, have balls, act, and go to the trenches.
And for those of you who share the same beliefs as mine. Or you are neutral and interested in seeing things differently. Or if you want to criticize me with respect. This article is for you. I am grateful. I hope you love and enjoy it.
Helping Dictatorships In Africa, Latin America And Gulf Nations (But Destroying The Ones That Don’t Serve Them. For Example Gaddafi)
Questionable American Interventions
Well, The US is the superpower so it’s entitled to do whatever it so desires. At least, that’s what they believe in. And that’s what we are unilaterally forced to accept. And anybody who opposes their will shall face severe consequences. So nobody dares to challenge their hegemony.
That’s why the US got away with putting Augusto Pinochet in power through a bloody Coup D’Etat. It took the life of the democratically elected president Salvator Allende.
All that mess to protect the interests of American copper companies in Chile. (Because he nationalized the copper industry in Chile and was also a socialist). That decision by the CIA led to one of the most brutal periods in Chilean history. According to Wikipedia. Pinochet left over 3,000 dead or missing. Tortured thousands of prisoners and over 200,000 Chileans exiled the country.
Wow, What An American, Democratic, And Morally Righteous Decision. Thank You CIA.
Wait a second there’s more.
I’m not going to talk about Iraq in this article. I’m going to talk about another unjustified intervention by the US and you guessed it, NATO. The “intervention” of Libya. An “intervention” that to this day has left Libya a crippled divided pariah state.
Isn’t it strange that almost every time that the US intervenes in a country that ends up always being the end result? Anyways. This isn’t by any means a simple conflict to comprehend. Let’s start from the beginning
Welcome to the middle east in 2011. It’s the Arab Spring. This is an age in which there was a wave of protests against dictatorships in the region. Countries such as Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen, Syria, Bahrain, and Libya. These were protests with the aim of ending authoritarian rule and corruption. While trying to gain democracy and economic opportunity.
The Arab Spring made Qatar realize that it could end the Gaddafi dictatorship. With the help of an organized coup from the outside. An amazing opportunity to get more influence in the region. And also to stand out against its nemesis, Saudi Arabia.
It all starts in Benghazi, 2011. There were already protests in Libya. Before, the riots use to limit to some extremist elements, but this time, things are a little bit different. Things were more complex than a simple revolt. It’s proven factually by the coordinated movements. And the large availability of weapons that circulated.
Things that demonstrated a plan at the base of everything.
French president Nicholas Sarkozy saw this as an opportunity to overthrow Gadhafi. It could give the french access to a very rich market for both the energy and military sectors. Around Western media, the narrative propagated around the Libyan crisis. It was based on the logic that Gaddafi was repressing in blood a peaceful and popular revolt.
This narrative began spreading from Qatar. They began spreading images of violence in a systematic manner. To the point of convincing European public opinion. The Qatari news described how the libyan air force bombed the urban areas of Cyrenaica. Creating thousands of victims beyond civilians.
After this, the media spoke of “mercenaries” under Gaddafi’s payroll. Apparently, they “were stuffed” with Viagra. And were guilty of raids and rapes against the populace. Information that proved to be false.
The anchorman even asked the public. “Which one do you believe? What you can see with your own eyes or the words of a tyrant?”. Ironically, the majority of the population in Libya didn’t take part in the uprisings. They feared reprisals from the regime.
[Apparently as of now, the West hasn’t really learn much from its past misdeeds
I ain’t saying anything. Take your own conclusions from here. And worst of all, it’s the stupidest piece of western propaganda I’ve heard about. At face value it shocks you. But when you really think about, you’ll see how stupid this is. I digress.]
Their passiveness gave Gaddafi time to recapture most of the country. And move towards Benghazi. To crush the rebellion once and for all. Faced with certain defeat. The rebels of Cyrenaica asked the West for military intervention.
That’s when “Operation Odyssey Dawn” comes into the picture. A US-NATO-led operation with the purpose to create a no-fly zone around anti-government forces. The Libyan air forces lost and Gaddafi was nowhere near Benghazi.
According to unofficial forces, NATO, UAE, and Qatar had made an agreement. A day before Qatar’s acknowledgment of the CNT. Or the National Council of Transition against Gaddafi. UAE involvement would allow Abu Dhabi to deepen strategic relations with France.
Others said that Qatar was prone to agree. Because it could enjoy exclusive access to some of the Libyan oil reserves. It would trade on behalf of the new Libyan government that would have risen after Gaddafi.
Already on April 2011, French corporations expressed interest in settling in the country.
I didn’t go into much detail on this part. The point is that Gaddafi was an example of good governance. And pan-Africanism that was erased from our continent. Libyans enjoyed a decent standard of living. And that was unjustly taken away from them by the West and its allies.
This plan didn’t bring much prosperity to the countries who were involved in this operation. A few weapons sales. But this all led to 2 civil wars
[And these were quite complex proxy wars. With France and Russia on the same side. EU, US, and Turkey on another]
A Libya with 3 different governments fighting each other for power. At least for now, the civil war is over, but the situation is still unstable. And prone to changes.
Either way, you can see this situation. It’s obvious that the French, UAE, and Qatar haven’t reached their goal of putting a Pro-West puppet. Or any government that serves their interests and lets them drill the Libyan oil fields.
Closing This Idea
It’s no surprise that the West has no issue supporting bloody authoritarian regimes. All over the globe, but at the same time. Always talk about the importance of supporting democracies all over the world. And force dictatorships they don’t like to become “democratic”.
As if the block holds a moral high ground for being democratic.
The US and France have no issue in toppling any government that don’t serve their interests.
(I talk more about these two because they are the worst offenders, it’s funny because they both believe in “freedom” and “equality”. In their own anthems, history, and national symbols. But we know what they’re all about)
This makes western policymakers hypocritical. But here’s the truth behind the facade. The US and France only care about having their interests served abroad. This can be achieved through debt imperialism, toppling governments, sanctions, and military intervention.
You know how they get away with these atrocities with minimal to no repercussions.
It goes back to my last point and the big idea of this article.
Here’s The Double Standard (Supporting Another Autocratic Oil Rich Nation, But This One Serves Their Interests. Or Does It?)
It’s no secret that the West didn’t support Gaddafi for the majority of his time in power. For several reasons, but the main one was the fact Gaddafi didn’t support Western interests. Gaddafi nationalized the oil industry. It never let Western companies exploit its fields. Also, his regime was a threat to the CFA franc system in West and Central Africa.
An economic system that makes France prosper at the expense of 14 African nations. (Most of them former colonies of France). The nations that use the CFA franc must have 80% of their currency in the French treasury. A subtle form of neocolonialism and exploitation.
This system costs these nations US$500 billion per year each. No wonder why Africa has the reputation for being poor. Thank France for that.
And remember that. He was also a ruthless autocrat, he was Muslim and did a lot of things that don’t align with “Western Values”.
But, why does it matter if people in Libya enjoyed a decent standard of living compared to its neighbors? When Gaddafi was in power Libya had one of the highest standards of living in Africa. It was one of Africa’s most developed nations.
But because he was “selfish” and didn’t succumb to corporate western interests and influence, he had to go.
On the other side of the coin, we have Saudi Arabia. One of America’s most ancient, most profitable, and most important alliances the US has. If it weren’t for WWII, Saudi Arabia, and the Petro-Dollar system. It’s doubtful that we would have seen the mighty USA we have today.
For those of you who don’t know, in the mid-20th century, the USA struck a deal with Saudi Arabia.
When Saudi Arabia was fearful of its security and perceived Iran as a threat. So to protect itself, Saudi Arabia asked the United States for help. And the deal was. The US would provide Saudi Arabia with the most up-to-date military hardware. And Saudi Arabia would sell its crude oil in dollars.
Since Saudi Arabia was and is the biggest oil producer in the world, the market would follow.
And the US dollar would become the de-facto reserve currency. Since its demand would be so high for being pegged to this highly important commodity. And also, with the profits of the sale of oil, Saudi Arabia would also recycle its dollars back into the US economy. This partnership benefits both these nations.
At the same time, Saudi Arabia is an autocratic monarchy. The people of Saudi Arabia do not experience democracy, but they don’t need any “liberation”. How hypocritical, isn’t it? Its government acts with complete impunity within its borders. You’ll see why.
They have a complete disregard for Human Rights. The Rule Of Law, Habeas Corpus, Democracy, and Respect for and protection of minorities. These concepts don’t exist in Saudi Arabia.
For Saudi society to accept you, you must have Islam as your religion. And if they catch you practicing any religion that isn’t Islam in public. You risk arrest, imprisonment, lashing, and deportation. And sometimes torture for engaging in overt religious activity that attracts official attention.
And it gets better. Especially for women, because they get buried to their shoulders and can’t escape. [Obviously being ironic. This is to piss off the haters]
Homosexuality, Apostasy, Treason, Espionage, Murder, Rape, Terrorism, Drug Trafficking, Armed Robbery, Blasphemy, Burglary. Adultery, Witchcraft, and “Waging War On God” are all punishable with the death penalty.
And if you are trying to dig up some dirt on this regime. (By now you know they have plenty we know of). You will suffer the same fate as Saudi journalist and critic Jamal Khashoggi.
It seems that Saudi Arabia is getting distanced from the US. And now they’re starting to become quite fond of Russia with OPEC+. We’ll see how this goes.
Questionable French Interventions
Welcome to the year 2000, The story starts on the Isle of Hispaniola in the republic of Haiti. The opposition of the country is accusing the government party of election fraud. In parliamentary elections.
U.S. Congressman John Conyers said:
Unfortunately, there were irregularities that occurred in the election and there is a post-election problem of the vote count that is threatening to undo the democratic work of the citizens of Haiti. Without doubt there were irregularities that occurred in the election which have been conceded by the CEP.
But his supporters claim the opposition boycott was a ploy to discredit Aristide. But these accusations didn’t come without consequences. Following the election, the EU and the US suspended governmental “help” to Haiti. And I’m just starting.
3 years later, president Jean-Bertrand Aristide demanded France to pay reparations of US$ 21 billion. Which he claimed was equal to the 90 million gold francs France forced Haiti to pay. To become an independent state 200 years ago.
This is when things escalated.
[Have you ever asked yourself why Haiti is the most undeveloped country in Latin America? This is the reason, I’m afraid this is just another story of how debt can be destructive to a nation’s prosperity. This one will have to wait for another time]
On February 26, 2004. The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) requested that international “peacekeeping forces”. To its member state Haiti. But the United Nations Security Council rejected the request. Three days later and hours after Aristide’s forced resignation, the Security Council. I mean France. Voted to send in troops.
Myrtha Desulme, the chairperson of the Haiti-Jamaica Exchange Committee, told IPS
I believe that (the call for reparations) could have something to do with it, because they (France) were definitely not happy about it, and made some very hostile comments. (But) I believe that he did have grounds for that demand, because that is what started the downfall of Haiti,”
Right after the coup. The provisional prime minister Gerard Latortue rescinded the reparations. It called the demand “foolish” and “illegal”. This is one example of an illegitimate, unfair, and unjust french intervention abroad.
France sees itself entitled to do whatever it wants in its former colonies. It still sees its former colonies as part of its empire.
France “gave independence” to its colonies. But with a lot of strings attached. France continued to have an imperialist and expansionist foreign policy in Africa. From 1960 to the mid-1990s, France had 122 military interventions in the continent.
It’s on average, more than 1 intervention a year. France often intervened to protect French nationals and their interests. To put down and prop up rebellions and political instability. To prevent or to prop up Coups. To restore order and to support particular African leaders.
Every time there were presidents in these nations. That tried to achieve real independence for their countries. Or demand reparations. Whether through the dissolution of the CFA franc or by cutting ties with France. They would be toppled by France.
And replaced with a more Pro-France government. But things seem to change and the future looks a little bit brighter for some of these countries.
A year ago, Mali forced french troops to leave the country. Mali suffered a military coup and decided to cut ties with France. And right after that, the ECOWAS sanctioned them. The good news is they lifted them.
The entanglement starts because France failed to remove the jihadists from Mali. Threats it promised to remove from the country.
[And Yes. Terrorism is still a threat in the African continent. It’s funny how nobody talks about 9/11 and the terrorist attacks in Paris anymore]
Now, they are getting help from Russian Wagner Group mercenaries. They deal with the threat and train their armies. This was quite unprecedented to the nation. Since they weren’t allowed to seek military aid besides France.
As time goes by. Africans living in “Francafrique” are becoming less tolerant of the French Neocolonialist attitude. Citizens are revolting against France. The future of these nations is quite unpredictable. And the position it holds in the continent could fade one day.
Get rid of the CFA Franc guys.
Final Message
From the examples I’ve shown to you, you realised that The West is far from the good guys in the story. I always end up at the same conclusion. Everybody has a self-centered agenda. Especially superpowers like the US. Whether they are your parents, siblings, family, friends, idols, or gurus.
Every single one of them has skeletons in their closets.
I have a few skeletons as well. And some of us are plain machiavellian. In times of war, every single piece of information you’ll consume about a particular war. Is propaganda. Do you think propaganda was a thing of our “autocratic past”? And taht after WWII we’ve grown to be better than Hitler.
Think again.
When it comes to the ethics of manipulating the masses to adopt a particular narrative. We are still exactly like Nazi Germany. With some different nuances. Propaganda in our world is used to serve the interests of certain few. In key economic lobbies.
Yes, even in our modern times what you consume contains propaganda. Whether you watch RT or CNN.
[Even Google is influenced by Western Propaganda. It’s Nuts. When I was trying to find images for this article. If I wrote on Google Russia-Ukraine War. You will find civilians crying and buildings destroyed. A lot of chaos that would make you cry. But when you search American invasion of Iraq. You would only see American Tanks and american soldiers only.
It just shows where the attention goes when it comes to wars in the Middle East, Africa and Europe. And shows the blatant and shameless racism of these news networks. It’s up to you to accept this double-standard. I’m done with my rant.]
Propaganda, meaning a story or narrative with the goal of persuading you to choose a stance. A stance that the TV wants you to choose. Because it serves certain companies for you to believe that. And my stance is don’t trust America, they are not here for the underdog and the unprotected children of this world.
That’s the stance I adopt because of what I’ve seen through America’s actions.
As much as they provide “help” to poor nations. As much as they claim to be doing good. As much as they claim that they support democracy or human rights. They’re not, and their stance on Saudi Arabia and Palestine proves that. And America will not have any issue with violating international law.
And committing war crimes to pursue its geopolitical agenda.
[America is deceptive. It portrays a beautiful and romantic facade. It’s like the hottest girl you’ve seen in your life, but she’s a manipulative and awful human being on the inside. Also, she has sifilis too.]
Do you know why they get away with these atrocities? Because no one pulls the brakes on them, even the UN. The international organization had the purpose to prevent wars. To protect the weakest of weak nations. Through this lens, this organization is a complete failure in serving this purpose.
You have to understand that America is here for its interests. And they hold the knife and the butter.
And all the talk points America spews. About freedom, human rights, and all these things America claims to support. It’s all American propaganda that they use to indoctrinate you. And you foolishly believe it as if they were part of your identity. And anyone who tries to challenge those beliefs makes you feel offended.
American Foreign Policy is so self-centered that at times, they look hypocritical. Don’t trust Joe Biden or anybody American policymaker’s words. Or news channels like CNN or MSNBC or even the UN.
And for these reasons, that’s why I believe we need a new superpower to rise.
I am concluding here.
That’s my final message.
The End
Thank you for reading this article to the end. More is coming on the way. I’m sorry for not posting more articles . My life is changing a lot and so fast. I have gone to college. I’m moving places, we’ve finished bringing most things. I started dating someone a few days ago. Yes, a lot has been going on in my life.
Here are a few petitions you can sign if you are upset with the US as I am. Let’s be authentic for Christ’s sake. If we can sanction Russia for it’s actions, we should petition to sanction these offenders as well:
I wish there was an active petition to sanction France. The one I found was for the UK parliament and was rejected :(. Other than that think we may start to have some impact already on some of our causes:
Here’s an article that talks more about Western Propaganda that I think you’ll love, it’s from Debra Ray:
