Day 2: Researching Medical Schools

So I’ve finally decided to apply to medical school, and can officially cross that off my checklist.

It feels pretty amazing to have a solid goal again. Living in limbo was incredibly hard. There was nothing I was working towards, no end goal, I was just living day by day hoping I would miraculously stumble into my dream career. Unfortunately, life doesn’t work like that. You need to fight for what you want. You need to put in every single waking minute you have to be able to achieve something you truly want. So that’s what I need to do. I need to get off Netflix, stop refreshing my Facebook feed, and stop wasting my time on the unnecessary.
It’s easier said than done.
I’m a tad addicted to my laptop and cell phone, and couldn’t even imagine going a few hours without checking in on the latest posts. I’m also addicted to binge-watching shows on Netflix. But it needs to stop. So instead, I need to fill in every minute of my day doing something that will lead me to my goal of going to medical school.
So first things first. I need to do some research. I’ve probably heard every horror story out there about the struggles of getting into medical school. It’s scared me off for a number of years now, and I’m sure many people are in the same boat as me, but I’ve surprisingly never looked at all the options out there and the actual requirements for getting into medical school.
