Thanks for your arguments,Samuel, that are very well funded (unlike some others). I also like the word “ ultracrepidarian”, which was unknown to me , the richness of the English language is always very impressive.
But I commented on the manifesto because of my experience in this field, and the long career i had in software development. And i saw that change over the years, the gender shift was quite noticeable. Long time ago, STEM studies where socially directed versus men. In contrast, more women where active in software development until it became more glorious (you can find a lot of articles around that theme) and men took over (i take a few shortcuts).
Now we have a tension between corporate HR, who wants to correct some past mistakes, and corporate product development, who wants to remain in the same pastures.
And i am not intolerant towards other opinions, if they remain within the boundaries of socially accepted opinions. Questioning women’s inability to perform certain tasks is by nature unacceptable. And that is why i feel i should say a word or two.
