I’m surprised to read what universities teach in other countries is so limited. Concerning languages, I had required classes that used Assembler, Prolog, MATLAB, Lisp (Scheme), Flex/Bison, and JavaScript as well as the usual C/C++/Java.

Is the focus to produce “industry-ready” engineers in American universities rather than just engineers? If so, it doesn’t seem to have worked.
