Finally, the contract has been released on the mainnet! There isn’t better place for a smart contract to go alive than Ethereum DEVCON. So beginning today the fundraiser is up and running on the Ethereum mainnet including confirmed MSF address. (If you have read the previous post, that was the news.)

Intro:
With this project I want to take the ICO model and use it to create something slightly more positive then just ROI measured in money. Thus, I’m not, by any means, promising a great investment with huge financial return. What I’m rather promising is a chance to support an effort from which you can either benefit yourself or, if you decide not to, pass/sell that benefit to someone else who will.
What is the fundraiser for?
Short: Community developer hub, academic conference and charity.
There are three goals of this fundraiser:
1st goal: 10000$
To start and run a blockchain developer hub in Prague for a year at least
2nd goal: 25000$
To organize an academic conference for blockchain related papers in 2018
Charity goal
Whatever is raised above or bellow the goals will be donated to Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors without borders. MSF have a Bitcoin donation process and they recently included a public Ethereum address to their website, which is the address the funds will potentially go to.
This means that even if the 1st goal isn’t met, all the ether goes to charity.
Token description:
The Token of Gratitude is a standard mintable (ERC20) token with following specs:
- Name: Token of Gratitude
- Symbol: ToG
- Max supply: 500
- Decimals: 0
What is a ToG good for?
The value of ToG rises together with the money raised as the stretch goals get reached. Each stretch goal extends rewards for ToG owners.
People who redeem their token will get the following :
- a drink (I’ll invite you for a beer, coffee,…) &…
- free hub entry for 1 year (if 1st goal 1 is reached) &…
- entry discount for the 2018 conference (if 2nd goal is reached) &…
- great feeling forever after (gets better with every wei raised!)
Only people sending enough ether will get ToGs but EVERY single participant will be able to win the Golden Ticket.
Token price
The token price increases after every 100 tokens sold. You can get as many tokens as you like.
Anything below or above the price will be considered a donation. However, anything you contribute, you will get you in the Golden Ticket draw.
Golden Ticket — Draw
GT is similar to ToG but it’s even more awesome. It doesn’t cost anything extra, the winner will be randomly selected from all contributors upon finalization.
Once you use it, you will get:
- lunch/dinner invitation
- free hub entry as long as I’m running it (if 1st goal is reached)
- free conference entry (if 2nd goal is reached)
There is only one single Golden Ticket for the whole fundraiser. It’s assigned randomly upon the fundraiser finalization. It doesn’t act as a ERC20 token, but its ownership is transferable.
Where to use the tokens?
The drink invitations will happen primarily in Prague (I hope you will have more reasons to come over with the new hub and the conference to visit!).
