I’m An Ex-Google Woman Tech Leader And I’m Sick Of Our Approach To Diversity!
Vidya Narayanan

Well, i'm not a woman but i'm gay and i identify myself with the diversity question in tech.

I agree with you vision of mentoring and support young woman to study and code in early stages. But why it cannot be done with people you hire by "quotas"? (i dont even like that word, because of the bad meaning it get).
If you are hiring someone, you know the capabilities, potential and limitations that person have, if that person doesn't goes too well, it makes you responsible. So why not prepare this person too?

I guess the real problems in the diversity agenda is to think that hire is enough. We need to accompany these people so that they grow professionally. And also to send a message to the people who believe that we are disorganized (and we really are in this moment), that we are together and taking care of one another. Sorority, empathy. I believe it.

Thank you for you text and for open that up for debate :)
