No anti-semitism here. Someone wants to build on this site. The synagogue enjoyed protection under the historic preservation laws as promulgated by the New York’s Historic Preservation Board. Now that the structure is a total loss, and must be razed, it also loses its historic preservation status. Therefore, the land can now be developed. This historic synagogue was likely torched for economic gains. The NYPD and FDNY have an excellent arson squad who will eventually catch up with the perps who did this.
