I try to do the following every morning for at least two hours into my work day.

  1. Ignore social media.
  2. Set phone to airplane mode or priority mode so I receive only important notifications.
  3. I collect and clear my email inbox, open to-do’s, Slack, Basecamp etc. and add them to my journal’s daily list. This helps empty my mind, prioritize tasks and focus everything to a single list.

My mornings often become the most productive time of my day and frequently sets a nice pace that lasts well into the afternoon.
