I’ll add a bit to this. Spaced retrieval, allowing yourself time to forget a little bit before reviewing something, makes the learning process slightly more difficult but increases how well we retain the parts we learn long term.

Interleaving. It’s actually good to switch between learning things from one session to another. The book Make It Stick does a great job of fleshing out these ideas.
