Allow Their Best Traits to Become Your Own

Taking inspiration from the people around you

Here's a practice Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius used for encouragement.

Notice what qualities the people around you possess. Everyone has different strengths. This person is the embodiment of cheerfulness, this one’s modesty, that one’s friendliness.

I sometimes write a list of people I know — friends, family and acquaintances, and what I admire most about their character. His ability to engage energetically in conversation with anybody…her propensity to drop everything to help someone.

Or you can think, how would so and so act in this situation? Can I channel their behaviour?

You will feel grateful for the good in people while also absorbing some of their magic as your own. The people surrounding you are your biggest influences, allow their positive attributes to rub off on you.
