Lucid Dream, a poem
Jul 8, 2024
Curled up with a cozy book
and a cup filled to the brim with swirling nebulas
I sit beside you and feel the gravitational p u l l
Of my eyes and our tired bodies as we are plunged
by that nighty abyss of closed eyes down,
d
o
w
n
to shade trees and flowing rivers
to bare limbs and roaring waters
I fade in
and out
so as to spacewalk through my consciousness
weightless from the gravity of human form and human qualms
gazing upon the universe, and the universe looking back
I know the weight of sleep like my eyes weighed by lead
I float through the Expanse in the comfort of my bed
