Joseph Krigsfeld

Joseph Krigsfeld is a New York based private investor involved in the investment of Film, Media and Fintech startups. Joseph began his career in 2003 at a top tier investment bank in London, and by 2008 he had held various roles including senior associate and managing director of various private investment and global capital management firms in New York. Despite having a veritable track record in private finance, he decided to venture into the film industry to try his hand at producing movies. His first featurette, a comedy revolving around a rivalry between two boys, was showcased at the Sundance Film Festival and was met with a positive response, which further elevated his interest in the role of film production. In more recent years, Joseph has pursued investments that align with his great interests and passion, film, media and fintech. One of his more notable achievements has been his work as an Executive Producer on a number of films. He has worked alongside stars such as Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams and Javier Bardem in the films ‘The Better Angels’, ‘Awful Nice’ and ‘To the Wonder’. ‘To the Wonder’ premiered at the 2012 Venice Film Festival and received a number of award nominations, taking home the SIGNIS Award. Following the success Joseph Krigsfeld had in the film industry, he carried out a number of media related seed investments. He has been involved in various media fintech investments through their lifecycles, and in some cases, successful exits and IPO’s. One of the ventures was TUGG, an independent film distribution technology startup that empowers anyone to share films in movie theatres and community centers anywhere in the world. Joseph was an early seed investor and helped establish the business as a disruptor in the film industry before its ultimate wind down – leaving a significant mark in terms of IP and presence in the indie film world. Joseph Krigsfeld has been involved in various philanthropic organisation for several decades, including Jewish heritage programmes where he has been an active contributor and business mentor as well as contributor to the Madison Council.
