Joseph Sarcona is an accomplished leader and forward-thinking entrepreneur, with over 20 years of expertise in finance, logistics, and technology. As the managing partner of Willow Court Capital Management since 2016, he has tirelessly focused on fostering scalable growth, transforming businesses through first principles thinking, and harnessing the latest advanced technologies (including GenAI) to build lasting value. With a truly unique and highly sought-after skill set, he excels at tackling complex problems and capitalizing on opportunities to scale within transformative markets.
A graduate of Fairfield University, Joseph’s career began on the bustling trading floor at Morgan Stanley, where he quickly recognized the potential of market automation. His early involvement leading a team developing algorithmic trading engines for the US options markets set the stage for his future success. His curiosity and adaptability led to a five-year assignment in Hong Kong, during which he collaborated with the world’s largest asset management institutions and multiple country regulators, as the Asian markets evolved and embraced electronic trading. Upon returning to New York, Joseph was entrusted with overseeing global electronic trading in listed derivatives. His adaptability and versatility were further demonstrated when he transitioned into the fixed-income division as those markets adopted electronic trading.
Joseph is grateful for the opportunities in his life and is a big believer in paying it forward. He actively participates in his favorite charities, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Lead The Way Fund, as they hold a special place in his heart and have directly helped people close to him in difficult times. Joseph feels fortunate for his opportunities and sees supporting these causes as his way of giving back in times of need.
Joseph’s most important role is that of a father and husband. While he is a devoted fan of the Giants and Mets, he really enjoys his children’s sports. He draws inspiration from his grandfather, who returned home from World War II with a Purple Heart, started family, a trucking business whose legacy endures to this day, and remarkably led the 1962 West Hempstead Senior League team to a historic victory in the Little League World Series, earning Long Island its first national title. This legacy of resilience, dedication, and community impact drives and motivates Joseph to live life to the fullest!
