Yes, Stalin had people executed in the pursuit of defending the revolution. Nazi spies, reactionaries, and even some innocent people I’m quite sure got caught up in that, but it was a time of war.
The “Holodomor” is a hoax, insofar as the claim that it was a campaign of deliberately starving people to death; there was a famine, there had always been in that region from time to time, but no deliberate starving of the population. It doesn’t make any sense at all. I think the Irish Potato Famine and famines that took place in India under the British Empire were the result of business-as-usual capitalist accumulation.
Marxism-Leninism is NOT doomed to fail, but the capitalists of the West, primarily the US, did everything they could to destroy it — they finally succeeded in bringing down the Soviet Union. However, M-L still exists in Cuba and in DPRK in a sense, although they have a new socialist ideology they call Juche.
Power is not its own ends and means, and its not inherently a bad thing; it depends on what you do with it. In the USSR and in socialist countries to this day people are guaranteed the right to housing, employment, healthcare and education.
