This reminds me of Brett Weinstein’s concept of a belief can be wrong but still provide a selective advantage, so acting as if it’s true is beneficial [paraphase].

Whether Rohn’s quote is scientifically true (or shall we say absolutely true) does not impact it’s pragmatic utility. It gets you thinking in a beneficial way. It’s cool that research is bringing even greater nuance to the concept, and from your conclusion it seems you give this area high priority in considering one’s personal development.

It must be very difficult to control the interpersonal variables across such a long time span and (hopefully) large population. Can you give a brief overview of what was controlled for?

I saw in another comment you state a casual relationship has yet to be established, but you suspect social norms. Do the researchers have any up and coming plans to tackle this?
