This is our experience with Van Glorious in their beautiful VW Camper Van We hired the ultimate model called ‘The VW California’ with a pop up roof and fully kitted out.

Amy, the owner of Van Glorious, really wanted us to have the time of our lives travelling around the UK over summer.

Here is the start our of journey…..

You will see above that we hired an extra bike rack from Amy which was extremely handy.

Our first leg was to the Yorkshire Dales.

We drove through the lovely town of Harrogate, then on to a pleasant place called Otley.

Some bigger motor homes really struggled with the small country roads. Our VW showed its incredible advantages of its size by easily navigating the smaller roads and getting us to remote camp sites.

We spent two days around the picturesque Bolton Abbey

Next stop - Scarfell Pike.

It’s now 3 days of living as a family of four in the camper and we really are getting into the swing of things.

The VW camper design is simply incredible.

Everything has a purpose. For example, the chairs are neatly stored in the boot door, the table is stored in the side door. You have blinds (with magnets) and those helped keep us safe and private when sleeping overnight.

Our trip took us to The Lake District, Edinburgh, Loch Katrine, Loch Ness and finally up to John O’Groats.

We travelled some of the way with a friend in his HUGE motorhome. We had a challenge to see who had the better vehicle. The VW camper WON easily.

You see, we spent more time sitting together outside because space was a little tight inside. We cooked a lot outside, played family games together, spent more time on bike rides. Okay, so the motorhome had a TV. Who cares! We wanted to escape normal everyday life and experience a real road trip.

Whenever we struggled with the internal gadgets in the VW, Amy was on call to help us. Do you know, the camper even had a chill box in the glove compartment, GENIUS

This camper van we hired was ideal for our young kids. Our two boys had the upstair bedroom all to themselves and they loved it.

We all slept beautifully, despite some tough Scottish wind once in a while. It took about 10 minutes every night to switch from a kitchen setup to a bedroom.

In summary, we had a great family road trip thanks to Amy. We all highly recommend VAN GLORIOUS to rent a VW camper van.
