Fitness the Savior
Three years ago I started on a journey that I had no idea as to where it would take me. I was born with scoliosis, and I have compounded the problem throughout my life to include multiple disc tears and herrniations. Just getting out of bed in the morning was a painful chore. I had little drive and high anxiety. At this point I knew that something had to be done. I did my normal research, bought a book, and joined Planet Fitness. I went through the exercises thinking I knew what I was doing. I did see some strength results, however it quickly plateaued. I didn’t have a clue about nutrition, nor was I in touch with my body. I had failed, something that I was not used to. I thought I had a plan. At this point, I knew I needed some help. I enlisted the help of personal training gym that I had been methodically following. I was assigned a trainer by the name of Akash Vaghela.
Little did I know how much I was about to be pushed. How much I was about to learn about myself, my body, and overall health. My workouts were tailored to me and I could see posture, range of motion, and strength increasing. I was able to find my happy place in the gym, leaving all of problems there on the floor. Changes in my body and attitude were occuring in a very positive way. My mindset became clear again and I was very focused. Friends and family could spot it very quickly. I was well on my way to a new addiction. An addiction that is healthy and I maintain each week. To be better than the week before, mentaly and physically.
