Bad Writing vs. Good Writing

I think good writing is when someone is able to write a story and while you are reading it comes to life right before your eyes. The words on the page become a vivid picture projected on the walls of your brain like a movie screen. Good writing is something where you can read it one time and remember what you read forever. It is able to tell the whole story and still not be super long. The more consise and to the point are better in most situations.

Bad writing to me is a story that is not able to keep my attention even after the first couple lines. Another reason for it to be bad writing is being too long or too short. Also, if it has too many facts and not enough of a story line.

The first link is an example of bad writing in my opinion. It is too long of an article for the the story it is covering. It also gives too many facts and stats rather then having more personal interaction with the people in the story. It does not keep your attention throughout the entire article.

The second link is an example of good writing. It catches your attention in the first couple of lines. It gives the facts of what happened and then it has personal testimonies of the people involved. When people read the testimonies of those who are involved, they are able to relate and connect to emptions of what the people had to go through. The writer is also able to tell the whole story and still keep it concise.
