Art was my boss at B’nai B’rith International for 9 years until his retirement, working for him as a video producer/director. Your dad was a mensch in every sense of the word, and he both taught me a lot and made me feel like I was an asset to his department. I loved reading your article — -absolutely brought Art front and center where he belonged!

The funniest Art Shulman “deadpan” moment I remember was after I concluded work on a video I was obliged to make one year honoring the outgoing B’nai B’rith International president after the conclusion of his term. This took about two to three weeks and much back ‘n forth between Art and me as we worked to see how much we could stroke this particular president’s ego without devolving into outright satire. Finally, we looked at the last edit together. After it concluded, Art sat silently for a few seconds, then turned to me and said in the voice Neil described so accurately, “Josh, we have succeeded in our mission of pandering shamelessly.” I nearly died laughing!

Thanks, Art, it was an honor.
