And We’re Off!
What happened?
Sunday night we had our Vision Meeting. This was the first meeting Centerpoint Church ever had! Talk about a once in a lifetime event! We had 45 adults join us to discuss why Centerpoint exists, our values, and what the future looks like.
What’d we say? To sum it up in one sentence: over 150,000 people in the greater Lakeland area don’t attend an evangelical church and probably don’t know Jesus Christ; our aim is the change that in a major way.
We’ll accomplish this by reaching non-believers, growing them in their faith, and sacrificially giving back to the community. Once we hit critical mass, we’ll begin training, equipping, and sending out church plants. . . in our city and surrounding area!
What’s next?
Over the next week, those who attended our Vision Meeting are praying about their involvement in Centerpoint. In the meantime, we’re taking a vision trip to the Atlanta area to visit two churches that embody Centerpoint. Anyone who wants a short and sweet road trip this weekend is welcome to join us. We leave Saturday morning and will get back to Lakeland late Sunday night with plenty of time to recoup on MLK holiday Monday.
On Sunday January 25th, we will have our first meeting. We haven’t decided where quite yet, but as people figure out their commitment level to Centerpoint, we’ll make the decision and continue making history.

Everyone is welcome and there is no commitment if you show up. We are sensitive to God’s calling on the lives of His people. We want people God has called to partner with us. If that isn’t you it’s okay because He has a plan to use you somewhere else!
Final Thought
These are exciting times. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join us in setting the foundation for what God is going to do through Centerpoint. Again, we aren’t just starting a church. We’re starting a completely new network of churches that will plant churches in Lakeland and beyond. It’s going to take hundreds of new churches to reach those dying without Jesus Christ.
