See Josh in Action: the Smart AI for Your Home
We’ve been hard at work building Josh.ai, a voice controlled high-end home automation system. We’re not yet ready to go live, but you can pre-order Josh at josh.ai/preorder. This past week we shot a few sample videos featuring some of our favorite elements of Josh and we’re excited to share them here for the first time:
Music: Here’s a demo of Sara using Josh to play a specific song, artist, and create a station based on music she likes. This is a 10,000 square foot home with Sonos built into the ceiling, and Sara is using the Josh iOS app which can perform these commands from anywhere in the world.
Lights: We’ve had a lot of fun building lighting functionality for Josh. In this house we have Lutron RadioRA2 hooked up throughout. Josh also works with HomeWorks QS, LIFX, Philips Hue, and more. With Josh you can control the entire home, a specific room, or a specific device. You can also ask the status of a specific room to make sure nothing is left on.
Remote Access: Josh operates via a local server that gets plugged into the home. As a result, you have full access to monitor and control when away. In this video Sara shows the ability to check what lights, music, thermostats, and cameras are like when not at home.
Complex Commands: At the heart of it, Josh is a powerful NLP (natural language processing) engine capable of parsing complicated commands quickly. In this video we show how Josh’s voice can be customized and in a single query you can control multiple devices across multiple rooms all at once.
Josh was designed specifically with the high-end home in mind. It can easily scale to homes 10,000 sq feet and larger without complicated programming. Josh is more than simply an AI voice engine. It’s more than simply an app to control everything. Josh is a complete solution that is reliable and easy-to-use, and provides a custom experience that upscale homeowners expect.
