There was no specific moment. Just a reflection at the end of the year when I looked back at what went well and what didn’t. As I thought about who I respected most I realized “Great Listener” applied to each of them and they were people I had observed in board meetings and other places in life. I realized I still have too much continuous partial attention in every conversation I’m part of and this was a chance I could focus on improving this and make things even better.
