The following is comprised of excerpts and edited from journals I keep alongside my art practice. This is the first in a series I plan to post here leading up to my solo exhibition “Lethe” opening June 30th, 2018 at Brand Library and Art Center in Los Angeles.

Rusty say cain’t

say they took one called

A bend in Lethe River curves along the edge of town, where again
it is legal for gas stations to sell…

I had a dream:
that a little winky-faced such-and-such
on the young side with a strap-on

On the day you arrive

you go down to the end

of the dock

where you find

no water.

Instead,

a mud-cracked plain.
