5 Must Watch TED Talks For #StartUps
TED Conferences are a worldwide phenomenon dedicated to presenting innovative speakers. As a social media manager working with high tech companies and startups, I've put together 5 innovating and inspiring talks that can change your business.
These are five of my favourites for startups and small business:
- Simon Sinek: How Great Leaders Inspire Action
My favourite speaker of all time and author is most famous for his “Start With The Why’ concept. He’s written for the New York Times, WSJ and BusinessWeek amongst others. Simon inspires action and helps businesses achieve goals. This is a certain must watch!
2. Tony Robbins: Why We Do What We Do (11+ million views)
Possibly the only global motivation speaker to feature in a Hollywood film. HE teaches people in all aspects of their lives from business success to personal emotions and focuses on why it is we do what we do. He’s also a tall timber.
3. Nilofer Merchant: Got a Meeting? Take a Walk.
Nilofer has worked for large businesses to small start-ups, including Apple, HP, Logitec and many more. Nilofer explains how dangerous our current work environments are and how we can solve those issues by getting off our butts!
3. Jason Fried: Why Work Doesn’t Happen At Work
Jason is a software engineer and founder of companies such as Basecamp and 37signals. His core question, ‘where do you go when you really want to get work done?’ poses heaps of questions about how we actually achieve anything during a work day.
4. Dan Pink: The Puzzle Of Motivation
Last but not least, Dan is a respected author of five books and was names as one of the top 15 business thinkers in the world. Dan focuses on how to run your business and his studies on how to motivate & inspire people and your team, pulling apart the assumptions that incentives lead to better work.
These top videos were carefully hand picked and after much debate in the office, these talks should help your business grow and further understand the work you are doing everyday.
