Cold fluid pumped through my veins. This part always made me drowsy. Even after all these months. A lab rat for the U.S. Government. I was part of the Study of Elite Soldiers program (SES).

That’s what I once was, an elite soldier. The top 4% of our military. Part of a small group that was unknown to the public. We were the group that got their hands dirty when the government ‘couldn’t get involved.’ Technically we didn’t exist. Yet, every individual in our group was handpicked by the president himself. And now…

Now we were the left overs. Injury-riddled or too old to be considered elite anymore, not to mention no family, we were the scraps that were sent to a government made island to be experimented on.

The government was looking for ways to enhance the natural man, well… the natural soldier. They had a team of scientists working to find ways to improve the human genome and a team of mechanical engineers improving soldiers by using machine attachments. It was a race to develop the perfect killing machine.

The project was given six months for completion. Not a lot of time, but with the best minds in the world it was doable. At the end of the six months a tournament was to be held to debut the various projects. There were four 'lead scientists’ and four ‘lead engineers.’…
