Tempus is coming to Fantom
Bringing fixed yield to the Fantom ecosystem
We are excited to announce that Tempus will integrate with Yearn on Fantom in the next few weeks.
As you may know, we had previously announced that we would be launching our Yearn integration on Ethereum on Wednesday 26 January 2021. However, in the current market conditions, the APR available on Ethereum has dropped significantly (for example, the APR available on DAI at the moment is around 3%). For this reason, we have taken the decision to delay the launch of our Yearn integration on Ethereum. We haven’t been sitting idle however and have been exploring other exciting opportunities instead!
Bringing Fixed Yield To Fantom
Tempus wants to make fixed yields accessible to as many users as possible. Unfortunately, the high gas fees associated with transacting on L1 Ethereum are pricing out a significant portion of users. This has brought opportunities though, as many of these users have migrated over to other chains as a result, one of which is Fantom.
Fantom has seen explosive growth in volume and total value locked (TVL) over the past 12 months. At the time of writing, the TVL on Fantom is over $12 billion. With a thriving community, much of the crypto industry also thinks that Fantom’s growth is set to continue. The interest rates available on Fantom are also significantly higher at present. As such, Tempus intends to bring fixed yield to Fantom.
Yearn Integration
We want to be clear that we are still working closely with Yearn and we are pleased to announce that Yearn will be our first Fantom integration! As mentioned above, there are currently great APRs on offer within the Fantom ecosystem and integrating with Yearn on Fantom will allow Tempus to bring fixed yields of over 20% APR to you. This presents a great opportunity to grow Tempus and increase its visibility. Ultimately, this will support our long-term objective of making Tempus the market-leading fixed yield protocol across all major blockchains.
On launch, we will have pools available for: MIM, DAI, USDC, WBTC, and WFTM, with varying maturity dates. You will be able to get a high, fixed-rate yield on any of these tokens.
