Really love this, Beth! The curiosity to chase things that seem useless or feel ambiguous is so important for new ideas to develop.

I started my career as a chemical engineer with a ‘useless’ interest in design. While most of engineering focuses on whether or not something is viable (can this work financially) or feasible (can this work technically), design helped me consider if something was desirable.

Taking these three lenses helped me develop a product that was not only something people wanted, but also was capable of being a business.

Now, this ‘useless’ interest has become my career.
