Great insights, I really enjoyed reading it. I was particularly fond of this statement which highlights a message I was just working with one of my significantly smaller scale clients on.

They had a perception that a sorting system needed to function in a specific pattern because that “how they always do it” but in describing it to our team it became painfully apparent that they hadn’t considered their filters ownership from the perspective of their clients. Ultimately we were able to show them a system that more appropriately handled the search function but it still took time for the owner to realize that their original vision had friction points. It’s all too easy to slip into believing that your method for using something is the only way.
