Hey Federico,

Thanks for writing this article. I’m about to personally embark on a Master of Science in Human Centered Design and I’ve recently become fascinated in the concept of Triple Bottom Line for businesses. I believe there may be sound applications for such an approach in the digital world.

With a Triple Bottom line the mix would look a lot closer to this:

People + Environment + Profit = Product.

People would be humanity. The environment would be it’s relation to physical and digital landscapes, and the Profit would, of course, be the financial mechanism.

It’s far to easy to think of digital products as having no impact in the environment around us, but the reality of it is that while people struggle with feedback loops, and fail to discuss, the environment the products exist within (that sustain it) become toxic.

Anyways that’s just my two cents.
