I love your last point on site speed, because I firmly believe it’s one of the most valuable and most commonly overlooked elements of UXdesign. So much so that I recently wrote an article on my own companies website regarding website speed because it matters so much. (Feel free to check it out @ http://bit.ly/EVspeed)

The reality of it is that a user’s first experience with a website, and by extension the company and brand, is the speed at which the website loads. Never underestimate it’s value. In fact Facebook is even starting to rank faster loading websites on their Newsfeed (http://bit.ly/2gfbSzO — Facebooks press release).

As a golden example of site speed being mission critical: we recently had the opportunity to work with San Francisco based nonprofit whose digital platform was struggling. Upon review we were able to determine that their website was not mobile-friendly, and that their website loaded catastrophically slow. With a migration to premium servers, utilization of a robust CDN and implementation of proper compression systems we managed to drop their load speed from 8s, to 600ms… the difference for users was night and day. Engagement increased, mobile use skyrocketed, and conversions increased.

Site speed is a hugely important UXdesign consideration. Great job bringing it to the attention of your audience.

Website speed is the first experience people will have with a website… so let’s make sure it’s a good one.”
