One Year of Gratitude — Day 19

Alexa, play podcast ‘In The Groove, Jazz and Beyond.’ Of course, Alexa responds with the expected results. As we prepare for what will be a busy day, Miles Davis gives us the fuel to push through a morning that has come too early. Mornings always come a little too early after a late night playing music. But that’s alright.
If you can’t tell, I’m rambling right now. I’m still searching for a bit of gratitude before we head out to visit Grampa. He had a serious shoulder injury a couple of weeks ago. My wife has been driving up to visit with him on her days off from work. Today I’ll be joining her. I’m happy she doesn’t have to make the long trip by herself today.
We will be dropping our daughter off at her Lubby-Dubby’s house on the way. Anyone who is close with our daughter has heard the name “Harrison” muttered many times. Harrison is the son of some friends of ours. He and my daughter are months apart in age. They’ve known each other their entire lives. My daughter adores him. It’s cute, to say the least. My wife broke the news to her last night that we’d be dropping her off at Harrison’s today. I wish I could’ve seen her excitement.
All you need is love
All you need is love
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need
— The Beatles
So, I’m thankful today for love and friendship that stands the test of time. Love and friendship that defies age, and logic. I’m thankful my daughter gets to spend the day with her “Lubby-Dubby” and I get to spend the day with mine.
And that’s your gratitude for today…
