Sometimes being grateful is a challenge. Today is one of those days. It’s not because I am upset about something. I’m not feeling ungrateful. That is not it at all. I feel like I’m having the equivalent of writer’s block. Yes. I am having gratitude block this morning. But, I’m not going to let that stop me from posting something. I’ll do my usual task of brainstorming until an inkling of appreciation presents itself.

I’m looking around for gratitude cues…

Oh look, there are no dishes in the sink. Hey, that’s pretty amazeballs. There are no piles of laundry in need of my attention. That’s great, too. Is the milk in the fridge expired? Nope. That’s a win! The sky appears to be clear and blue. It looks like it will be another beautiful weather day. Is the house tidy? It is better than usual. Is it quiet in the house? I could probably hear a pin drop. How about the temperature? It feels just right. Am I in any pain? Nope. I feel just fine.

Well, there you have it. When I stop to think about it, I realize there are a lot of small things I take for granted. With a little effort, I was able to find several things that make me happy. Today, I’m grateful for the simple things in life.

And that is your gratitude for today.
