A small tip at the end: If emptying the “Build this next”-queue takes so long that you feel the temptation to start re-prioritizing what’s in it, your WIP is likely too high.

Agreed. I’d also suggest monitoring closely how long things wait here. If the buffer is > 1 week’s worth of work, it’s probably too much. (Knowing the typical throughput per week also helps!)
