Even in the book, there’s no compelling context to Euron. Why is he angry? Why is he a psychopath? We understand Ramsay’s motivation to be a true Bolton because of his backstory. We definitely understand Cersei’s relationship with prophecy and wanting to be a son to her father. The Greyjoys and Sandsnakes def feel tacked on.. because they were in the book and even more so in the TV series.
