Spring 2016 as a CS transfer to UT, aka semester two, week one.

was nothing short of a breathtaking four days. I wasn’t sure what to think of the 6 classes at 15 units, but it’s been a great week.

  • Actually talked about interaction design in class (an interaction design class). This is surreal.
  • Python class comes up next and is in the same room.
  • Fell off my bike after leaving volleyball class, gashed my chin. We haven’t even started playing the sport yet.
  • Nearly fell asleep in my computer architecture course while discussing syllabus a short few hours later. Crammed classroom not in GDC. Granted, when he started talking about C, I was wired. #lowlevellove
  • Get to learn about all the Adobe creative software that I don’t know yet in my media class, held in a room full of iMacs and Wacom tablets in a music building with saxophone playing wafting in from the band rooms that is quite far from where the rest of my world has been.
  • I love ending 4 classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5PM for an evening of winding down, collecting myself and my to-dos, and putting in some reading. It’s oddly energizing.
  • Epic Ministry large group on Wednesday night. Really feeling this sense of community, a terrarium for growth. Grateful to have the chance to chew on this stuff.
  • Impromptu visit to Scott’s apartment after Epic large group came with the discovery that wao I am surrounded by extremely talented improv musicians and jazz enthusiasts. I resolve to dust off my keys…
  • ‘Clutch breakfast tacos from the GDC cafe because of waking up too late for breakfast at home’ are the new ‘waking up early and falling back asleep to wake up on time and well rested’… and frankly the breakfast tacos taste a lot better than the rest.
  • The finale that is the roller coaster of Friday: began at 12AM with playing AC4 on roommate’s PS4. Booyah. Woke up late and well rested. Ahhh. Took a bus 25 mins north to meet up with a person from Craigslist who was selling a 22" LED monitor for $40. He flaked. Boo. At least I also came north for a nice haircut! Yes. Freezing wind on the way back. Yikes. Did laundry. Meh. Hack night and met the people I really wanted to meet at these sorts of things. Got some work done on an old project but not much really. Still amazing. Semi late night Mediterranean food run. Bliss. Save for the blistering cold on the way back.
