I think we are all too quick to judge people harshly.
You seem to disagree. You think it is appropriate to judge people. Accordingly, you invite judgment about your ability to judge. Let’s see how you do:
We need to “educate people on how to behave when they’re being pulled over by the police.” Really, Rebecca? I have a feeling Philando Castile would have a different opinion were he able to comment. Sadly, he can’t because he was shot dead in his car by a police officer who has since been charged with manslaughter.
Grade: Sexist, lightweight misogynist, low-key racist.
Citing one example to support your argument is an anecdotal fallacy. Statistics and common sense indicate that a minority is far less likely to be injured when they are pulled over by the police if they follow instructions. Ignoring both common sense and statistics to make your argument while implying that people are best served by disregarding police implies that you care more about pretending you won an argument than the actual harm that could be caused if any individual took your advice.
GRADE: Selfish Stupidity, Cruel Disregard for the Lives of Minorities.
But I do know you don’t start out leaning toward Bernie Sanders and accidentally fall for Donald Trump, especially not when Bernie Sanders tells you, ‘Trump is the Most Dangerous Presidential Candidate in the Modern History of This Country.’ SIDENOTE: “I read all these things about people where their religious liberties are not being taken seriously.” WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, SANDY?!?!
GRADE: sexist.
Assuming that a voter who supported Bernie (specifically because she liked Bernie’s economic ideas) and yet, decided to choose Trump over Hillary because the voter is sexist, is a strawman fallacy. Nothing in her statement implied that she had an issue with women. Pretending that you are in shock that people feel as if the Left has attacked religious liberty is a personal incredulity fallacy.
GRADE: Disappointingly Obtuse.
Deb, actually, Trump doesn’t know how to build shit, he knows how to break and bankrupt pretty much everything he touches. “…they’re freaked out about energy changing too quickly.” Join the club, the green-energy club that is. Coal is dead. I can’t believe how much I have to say this. Deb closed by saying, “I don’t want to go backwards in the feminist movement, either.” It’s almost as if the New York Times is trolling the Trump women at this point.Because when given the chance to choose between the most sexist candidate and the first female candidate for President — you chose Trump.
GRADE: Sexist, low-key chauvinist (don’t think we didn’t see that cab driver bit).
She is actually saying that she is looking for somebody who knows how to get things done. Your dismissal of Trump’s business success based upon his bankruptcies, merely exhibits that you have no clue that failure is virtually always part of success. Trump has accomplished far more in business than Hillary has in her decades in politics. Your claim that “coal is dead” so the voter is wrong about Trump’s ability to reinvigorate the economy qualifies as a “fallacy fallacy.”
GRADE: Asinine.
Taylor, daughter of engineers. I desperately hope your parents build you a tool for critical thinking because I don’t understand how you go from CAMPAIGNING for Obama to voting for Trump. They just don’t go together. Still, the “I was a die-hard Bernie supporter. When he backed Hillary Clinton, I couldn’t get behind it” line tells me all I really need to know here.
GRADE: Sexist and misogynist.
Your claim that campaigning for Obama precludes voting for Trump is a “no true Scotsman” fallacy. Labeling the voter’s refusal to jump from Bernie to Hillary as “sexist/misogynist” is that same strawman fallacy that you made above.
GRADE: Dreadfully poor logic.
This is where things start to get…funky. Robin, was on board for Clinton in 2008, THEN something happened and she started getting her news from a machine which manufactures bullshit, I’m guessing? Hillary did a 360? Meaning she went back to the exact place she was at before? Abortion? Gay Marriage? Sorry, I just can’t — my liberal, elitist brain won’t let me break this all down. I guess we’ve just got another case of “I voted for Obama but my 8-year old son really convinced me Donald Trump was the chosen one,” what can you do?
GRADE: FUCKING IDIOT.
Mocking a voter for setting forth how Hillary constantly waffles by pointing out that the voter said Hillary did a “360” when everything the voter said made it evident that she meant “180” is a tu quoque fallacy, and an ambiguity fallacy.
GRADE: Childish.
Katie, “from what I understand, he says he’s not going to mess with that” is no way to make informed decisions. It’s like me saying, hmm, I dunno about all this repealing Obamacare/Affordable Care Act, from what I understand it sounds like he’s not really going to mess with that, except he is. You also failed to describe the concept of racism while also somehow still failing to convince anyone you are not in fact racist. Well done.
GRADE: FUCKING IDIOT.
Trump has not given any indication that he has any issues with the queer community or any ambitions to restrict their rights. You attack her for failing to “prove that she is not a racist” where the point was that she did not appreciate being judged by somebody who knows nothing about her. In other words, you committed the same wrong that she complained of. Great job representing the Left!
Then you meandered into discussing healthcare, an issue that the voter never discussed, and you started whining about how Trump will repeal Obamacare. What on Earth does her statement have to do with Healthcare? You committed no less than six logical fallacies in this assessment. These fallacies include strawman fallacy, fallacy fallacy, ad hominem, black-or-white fallacy, composition/division fallacy and burden of proof fallacy.
GRADE: EPIC Abortion.
This is where I lost patience and gave up in dissecting your analyses.
Oliver’s OVERALL GRADE: Incapable of making a sound argument. WASTE OF TIME.
