You claim that polarization in parties “primarily from the right” has been ongoing for years. You proceed to provide four links labeled “here”, “here” “here” and “here”.

I was curious about those links because I can easily make a fairly compelling argument that Obama was the most divisive figure that the world has seen in half a century.

So I checked the links. I assumed that they would be links to staunchly liberal sites like Salon or HuffPo about how the Right is “more evil than ever” and I would roll my eyes. But, that is not what you provided.

Your links give no visible indication that extremism from the Right is more to blame for our embattled political climate, than the Left. The first link leads to a book being sold on Amazon that I have never heard of called “It’s Even Worse Than It Was: How the Constitution has Collided with Political Extremism”. At least in its title, no specific blame againstvthe Right is indicated. The next three links all roll to articles that similarly describe increased extremism in politics without specifying guilt to either party.

While I have not read through every line, not one of those links seems to facially assert that the Right is to blame for extremist politics any more than the Left.

This is misleading your readers. You claim to prove A through sources, but your sources say something quite different from what you imply. Namely, that the Right is to blame for the current wave of extremism.

That is not merely cheating your readers, but, it undercuts your entire claim.

One of the major problems with extremist politics is that they are so desperate to show that they are correct, that they twist truth to have it support their position. There is, therefore, no small irony, Teryn Norris, that your accusation against the Right of improper politics, is postulated in an article that commits the very same wrong that you so loudly decry.

Physician, heal thyself.

Do not distort truth. It's a disservice to yourself and your readers. Manipulation of fact to reach your conclusion, means it is time to reassess your position.
