I wonder about relativity, and how much gravity has to do with holding atoms together

The universe consists of expanding voids of space counterbalanced by collapsing galaxies of mass. The former results in levity, the latter gravity. That is dozens of orders of magnitude removed from the scale at which atoms are held together. I believe the search for quantum gravity is in vain.
