One of the best things about the character of Spider-Man that Stan Lee created, is the beauty in a young person trying to do the right thing in a crazy world. Peter Parker, given extraordinary powers, unsure of who he is and what he wants to be is influenced by Ben Parker. He sees Peter different than Peter sees himself, and he calls greatness out of Peter. Spider-Man is a hero, one who even if the odds seem impossible, will choose to stand for what’s right.

In Spider-Man: Far From Home, this same idea is conveyed in film. The first…

The Toy Story series of movies are some of the most powerful and lovable films. Each film tackles some heavy topics through the lens of lovable toys. We see fear, growth, loneliness, friendship, and many more topics addressed; each film creating a wonderful story that sticks with us. Not only from a story aspect, but these films are what made Pixar, Pixar. One of the best books I have ever read was Creativity Inc. by Pixar co-founder, Ed Catmull. The first Toy Story pushed the boundaries of what computer animated films could do. It was a technical achievement that paved…

Spoilers ahead!

With the conclusion of a massive years in the making storyline, we are left with the question of, what’s next?

Avengers: Endgame completed a journey that every Marvel Studios film has been leading up to, and it did so in a fantastic way (To read more about that click here). So, what does that mean for the future of the Marvel cinematic universe? Well, a lot. The ending of Avengers: Endgame tied up main storylines, but also hinted at what may come next. …

“Part of the journey is the end.”

Over the past eleven years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been weaving a narrative spread across twenty-two films. Each film telling a story and creating emotional connections with Marvel superheroes, and at the end of the credits, leading us all forward until the next piece in this massive tapestry. As the artist of these stories, Kevin Feige has been leading the charge, each movie growing this world and tying into one another on a grand scale. It all began at the end of the first Iron Man film, where a…

Not too long ago, the Walt Disney Company announced that they would be creating a new streaming service. It was rumored to be a catalogue of all the content Disney has produced, the entire Disney library was to be put on this service. Not only this, but with announcements of exclusive movies and TV shows, this was a big deal.

Disney recently announced that this service would be officially launching on November 12th, with a price tag of seven dollars per month, Disney+ is a game changer.

In order to realize the scope of why this is such a crazy…

Horror is a great genre, all of it.

Now, before I continue, I can get scared easily. Sitting in a movie theater while watching a horror film often consists of me with my hands over my mouth, ready to cover my eyes. Horror engages that primal instinct of fear, but horror films are so much more than a cheap scare. The horror genre has always been a place where directors could demonstrate their craft at creating suspense, use of lighting, and a captivating story.

Recently, there have been many articles talking about how, “horror is back!” In reality, horror was…

Before I begin this review, you’ll have to understand something about Marvel Comics. The continuity of Marvel is a bit hard to fully grasp, it essentially is the idea that when the comics began, in this instance, Spider-Man, every issue that has come out for Spidey is in the same on-going continuity. Unless it was a Marvel ‘What If?’ book or was ret-conned, it has happened to the characters. It’s often referred to as the “sliding scale,” because a lot of stuff has happened since the characters were created. …

There are a lot of creative people in the world.

Chances are, you’re a creative yourself. Creative people are unique, because every person is unique. The hard part is, you can get lost in the sea of content coming out every second of the day. There are like a bajillion YouTube videos, Instagram pics, and Medium articles coming out every day (Pretty sure those are accurate stats). So, what do we do?

You’re a creative person and I believe that you have something to share.

Today I want to help you not get lost in the sea of content, and…

This movie was powerful.

Earlier this week, a story came out that poor reviews were coming out in order to bring the score of this film down on Rotten Tomatoes. A tactic that was also tried when Black Panther debuted in 2018, but we saw how that turned out for bigots when the film was nominated for best picture. This fact really makes me chuckle, because these sad reviewers obviously didn’t watch the movie, as the movie addresses people who do things just like that. This is Marvel studios’ first female led super hero film, and it does an incredible…

This week, my stack had a lot of continuing stories that I have already written about. My plan was to give an update on my thoughts of books, but all were just as good as the first issue I already reviewed. One thing I love about my local comic shop, is that since I’ve been there consistently, I have the employees recommend books they think I might like. I was recommended this week to check out the first two issue of the new Daredevil ongoing series. I’ve never been a Daredevil reader, because many times the stories I have come…
