Start timing yourself

For yourself

I have a simple proposition for you: next time you start a task off your task list, write down the time you started it.

When two hours ago go by and you not much got done, you’ll look at it, and ask yourself “What have I been doing the past 2 hours?!” Back and forth between Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, News sites, Email, and oh yea, the task?

It’s important that you understand how little things add up. By timing yourself, you’ll give yourself a reason to not let them. Otherwise, the discussion in your head is “Sure, why not give it a peak?”

In time, you’ll start to have a lot of fun with this because you can make small predictions to yourself and see how right / wrong you were. This makes it a race with yourself, which is a great way to spur along self-improvement.
