DiTenun X Kaldera DYO(Design Your OWN)
Background
This project is a collaboration between DiTenun and Kaldera which focuses on making custom merchandise applications specifically for the Caldera tourist area. Due to the lack of available merchandise for visitors to bring home from the Caldera tourist area, the idea emerged to make merchandise with the concept of “Design Your Own”. Visitors can use the application provided by Ditenun, which features unique motifs inspired by endemic plants from Sumatra, which were obtained through discussions with the Ditenun team.
Process
The first plan is Discussions regarding the design motifs are based on the unique native plants of Sumatra.
Discussion of motives
Based on the discussions, several plants that are unique to the Toba region of Sumatra have been identified. They are andaliman, antarasa, & sapinnur as well as other batak motifs.
Wireframe
After successfully creating several design motifs obtained through discussions, we proceeded with the formation of wireframes as the next step using Mira aplication. Wireframes are used to plan the layout and visual structure of the application or website that will be built. They are a simple visual representation that uses basic shapes and lines to depict the key elements that will exist in the user interface.
Design System
After the wireframe formation process, I created a design system as a reference to be used in creating the UI.
Mockup
In this Step, I create an enhanced design representation of the website. Based on the wireframe I created earlier, I added colors, typography and more.
