LONG ISLAND- College is a place where students go to get education. In order to have a good education it is important to go to a good school, have good professors and a good habit of study. There might be problems that you might find in different colleges that can also affect students. Many students that dorm find that the rooms are too small or that the food at the school isn’t that good. While commuters find that it is hard to park. A parking lot is essential in a school because it is the first thing you may see or be introduced to when visiting a school. Parking issues are crucial for a good experience in the life of a student. These problems in the parking lot should be fixed.

SUNY Old Westbury is a home to many students but it is being affected with the defects that the parking lot has. As tuition isn’t cheap, the school should give a better quality parking lot to the students. In other universities they charge over priced parking permits so students don’t park in the lot. “Some universities have taken malicious advantage of the lack of parking on their campus, selling over-priced parking passes and permits”. Some universities like the University of Utah, take advantage of their students and have them pay $600 for their parking permits.

Ethan Oyola a student at SUNY Old Westbury said “I think the parking permits should be free because tuition isn't cheap, it should come included”. Many potholes and bumpy roads can cause accidents in the parking lot. As it can cause accidents it can also cause damages to cars. Many cars can get a flat tire with potholes and their suspensions can be damaged as well. Insufficient parking spaces can cause students to be late making them rush and can be an issue to the other drivers around. As there isn’t that many parking spaces it causes car to drive around and there being traffic.

Many people that have a handicap permit sometimes can’t park in the handicap spaces. David Avalos a student at SUNY Old Westbury said “I have seen handicap students having to park somewhere else because there isn’t any more parking spaces”. The students should be given a better quality of a parking experience and they should be more worried about the students security.
