Just remember the Java certification: what it used to be in 90s and then. Certification is all about “You know the orthodox way, the basics, the good practices”. What people dont know is: a certified dev can be a sh*t maker, with a number to formalize “my memory is good”.

tl;dr: certification is good, but don’t try to sell it to me at 500 bucks. Its means nothing in the real deal of software development.
