Hmm. I had totally opposite experience. I tried using Jupyter standalone and I hit more walls with it when working with than with Anaconda. I would argue that Anaconda gives you more than just Jupyter and Anaconda should be used in certain ways to get the maximum enjoyment of it. But if you try to use it with docker containers and ways that isn’t maybe supported so well, then of course it gets something that you categorized as chore.

I was wondering that I remember using console with anaconda as well, I think you could also activate your projects there.

At the 2/3 o the article I got the feeling that have you really explored what Anaconda can offer? And think where that system is best? For me reasons for anaconda is that you can get data and scientific tools in one package and its easy to use. Also when helping beginners into world of data science without the skills of being tech savvy, anaconda rocks.
