Imagine how you mentally feel about Trump. Now imagine that you have to defend Trump feeling that way when you yourself don’t believe it. Now imagine coming up with a decent defense only to have Trump’s friend or son in law veto it to force you to defend things in a bold but ludicrous way.
I don’t think anybody truly knew what a Trump administration would look like. There’s an unprecedented amount of controversy packed into a very small time frame. I think you could say that many people assumed that the controversy would go away after a few months and the press conferences would he mundane… About policy leanings etc. But there was a new story to spin every other day for Spicer. He couldn’t have expected that. Most journalists also say that he was well liked before getting this position. I just think mental pressure understandably did him in.
