LaVar has smartly started building Lonzo as a mythological player because that’s what translates to lasting star and bargaining power. Jordan was by all accounts a very flawed mortal (normal) man but we talk about the flu game, the dunk, the tongue etc. My first pair of AI’s are still in my shoe closet bc of the myth of the man carrying a team no matter how injured. Now Lonzo is being set as the savior of LA. The narrative makes it seem that he was destined for this. It’s easy marketing in a huge market. So you don’t have to like LaVar, but thus far he appears to have been smart about empowering his son for at least a larger payday from A shoe company… and that sets the bar for future negotiations with other brands too.
