The Maker Movement: A Model for Healthcare Transformation
This month I had the privilege of giving an Edge Talk to the NHS Horizons Group about the maker movement and health. I highlighted our work with http://healthdesignby.us, our research with the Nightscout Community, and the talk also gave me the opportunity to think about a continuum of design for healthcare that becomes more participatory as you move from left to right.
Most of healthcare is currently at the left of the continuum, without even a concept of what design is. How do we move healthcare from the left to the right?

If you are curious about metadesign (“Design for designers”), please read this paper by Gerhard Fischer, End-User Development: From Creating Technologies to Transforming Cultures.
