Really enjoy this post. Yes, for some people, it will be outside the risk/financial security profile they can tolerate and that is completely fine. But for others who have the tolerance/can afford a few months of foregone income, it’s a great way to launch your career in tech. I moved back to the Bay Area in 2010 after college w/o a job. 3 months later, I was working at a first fund VC (for free). After another 3 months, that became full-time work. For those committed to East Coat —with a bit more hustle/established East Coast network, I’d guess this is largely replicable in NYC or Boston.
