I have been following the carnivore diet for the past 2 months and have never felt better. As someone who has struggled with gut health issues, I was skeptical of this all-meat diet at first, but I was quickly proven wrong.
When I first heard about the carnivore diet, I had just been diagnosed with a leaky gut and was looking for a solution that would not only alleviate my symptoms but also address the root cause. I had tried multiple diets, but none of them seemed to work. That’s when I decided to give the carnivore diet a try.

One of the things that drew me to the carnivore diet was the fact that it eliminates all lectin-containing foods and other anti-nutrients that can inhibit mineral absorption. In the past, I had to avoid certain foods because they triggered my gut issues, but with the carnivore diet, I didn’t have to worry about that anymore.

The carnivore diet has also helped me lose weight and improve my body composition. I was skeptical about the claim that this high-fat diet would lead to weight loss, but it did. I noticed that my cravings for sugar and carbs disappeared and I felt more satiated with the high-quality animal protein I was consuming.

Not only have I lost weight but my mental clarity, energy levels, and overall sense of well-being have also improved. My digestion is better and my skin cleared up.

It’s important to note that the carnivore diet is not just about eating any kind of meat, it’s about choosing high-quality, ethically sourced meat, fish and organ meats. These nutrient-dense foods are rich in B vitamins, iron, zinc, and other minerals, and are also a great source of high-quality protein.

As I continue on my carnivore journey, I have started to experiment with adding other foods back into my diet in a cautious manner. I have been following the protocol of “re-introduction” where I introduce one new food group at a time, then observe my body’s reaction to the new foods, this has helped me identify the foods that I can tolerate and the ones that trigger my symptoms.

I’m happy to report that after two months of following the carnivore diet, I have been able to add back some vegetables, fruits, and nuts without any issues. This has allowed me to have a more varied diet and enjoy more delicious meals. I am also incorporating more fermented foods, probiotics, and collagen supplements to support my gut health.

It’s important to note that the carnivore diet is not a one-size-fits-all solution and it might not be the right choice for everyone. However, for those who are looking for a diet that can help with gut health issues and overall well-being, the carnivore diet can be a great option. If you are considering trying the carnivore diet, make sure to work with a healthcare professional to customise the diet to your individual needs and monitor your progress.

If you are considering trying the carnivore diet I would recommend checking out ButcherBox, an online butcher shop that offers grass-fed and organic meats.
